When: Layer under Hair Powders to help them adhere for a matte effect, or layer over any foundation product (Styling Lotion, Thickening Hairspray, Styling Creme) for more control. Use on medium to long hair after a blow dry to calm, tame frizz and control, or smooth into an updo to add polish and definition. Use on short hair for detailing.

How: Spread through fingers, work through dry hair to tame, define, detail and add shine.

SO Versatile

pros:

I am a hairstylist, and I really love a product that is a "Jack of all Trades" so to speak. This is the best product. I have started using it on men, and women. For men I really love it because it isn't super heavy, or too shiny. It has the most flexible hold. For women, with short or long hair its amazing because of basically the same reasons, it doesn't weigh down, or make the hair look greasy. My favorite way to use it is for that slightly mussed up style, its hair that doesn't look like its trying way too hard. I love it, just make sure not to put it on wet hair.

like the control and shine

pros:

Hairdresser coaxed me into trying - was hesitant b/c waxy, but really like the control, shine and texture it gives to my hair. Have been using in the AM to tame and control ends and give a bit of texture. Great fragrance too.

Great Product for Separation, Sleekness + Shine

pros:

I love this product. It always adds polish + definition without leaving my hair greasy. It keeps my hair calm + static free. I also have layered under Hair Powders and I get great volume.

Easygoing polish for everyday looks

pros:

Me, when trying this product for the first time: "What manner of sorcery is this?!" It's not a gel or a wax...I don't know what it is, but it gives my tresses smoothness without a super-perfect look. I use it after blow drying to help calm my hair down (takes a lot of heat to dry my very long hair) and give some separation to the mid-shaft and ends of the strands. Can't say it adds a whole lot of shine to my hair (I use Hairdresser's Invisible Oil for shine factor if that's what I'm going for), but that is OK with me. Oh, and Semisumo smells fab! I had to warm the product up a bit in the container with the hairdryer before first use, but it now scoops out with ease. Love this product!

Great shine, hold, but DOESN'T WASH OUT EASILY

pros:

This product is so disappointing, mainly because it doesn't wash out easily! Hold is great, shine is great, but after shampooing you still can feel the waxy layer in your hair.Cannot recommend for that reason. Stick with the regular sumo.
