Does your company test on animals?
Bumble and bumble, LLC. is committed to the elimination of animal testing. We are equally committed to consumer health and safety, and bringing to market products that comply with applicable regulations in every country in which our products are sold.

We do not conduct animal testing on our products or ingredients, nor ask others to test on our behalf, except when required by law. We evaluate our finished products in clinical tests on volunteer panels.

Bumble and bumble, LLC. fully supports the development and global acceptance of non-animal testing alternatives. To this end, the Company works extensively with the industry at large and the global scientific community to research and fund these alternatives.

Bb.Shine previously had an unpleasant odor. Why do I no longer notice the odor? Did you add a fragrance?
No, Bb.Shine is still fragrance free. The original propellant produced a strong and unpleasant odor. After many product submissions, our Product Development team discovered a new propellant that has a much more pleasant scent and does not interfere with the performance of Bb.Shine.

I used Bb. Hair Powder and it ended up on my shirt, and later, all over my pillow case and sheets - did I do something wrong?
Hair Powder must be applied to hair that is a little bit greasy in order for the product to properly adhere (if your hair is clean, apply a light layer of Styling Wax under the Hair Powder to give it staying power). But just like other cosmetics with color (foundation, blush, and mascara), a certain amount will come off if rubbed on clothes or bedding. Try shaking any loose powder from your hair before you get dressed to reduce staining clothes and furniture.

I hear you give free haircuts?
Yes. To find out about becoming a hair model at Bb.U, please visit Bb.U Model Project website at http://www.bbumodelproject.com.

What is the Bb. Network?
The Bb. Network is a collective of exclusive salons and high-end apothecaries around the world which are authorized to sell Bb. products and come to Bb.U for hairdressing education. Please visit our salon locator to find an authorized dealer near you.

I thought that Bb. products are only sold in salons, but I saw them in a drugstore, what gives?
We only sell our products through the Bb. Network which is comprised of exclusive salons and apothecaries throughout the world. We have no relationship with any mass market chains and none is authorized to sell Bb. products (and we hate it when they do). The only way to guarantee the efficacy of our products (so you know they're the real deal) is to buy them from a member of our Network ( see Salon Locator ) or directly from Bumble and bumble.

What happened to the original Hair Powders?
We loved the original Hair Powders, but the pouf application was a bit tricky. The new Hair Powders have an aerosol application, so it goes on more evenly and adheres to the hair better - so they're easier to use. We discontinued the old ones because the new ones are so much better.

What happened to Gloss?
New spray technology made pump-spray Gloss obsolete. We've introduced a new shine spray (ingeniously called Bb.Shine) which has a superior shine and a lighter application.

Are your aerosol hairsprays safe for the environment?
We are pleased to report that all of our aerosols are compliant with the most stringent environmental requirements in the world (we wouldn't sell them if they weren't).

Is Bb. one of the Estée Lauder brands?
Yes! We joined the line up of Estée Lauder Companies in 2006.

Why must I combine your products?
While combining products is not necessary (each works beautifully on its own), mixing and layering products will give you a virtually unlimited palette of textures and effects. Plus, it's fun. Start with 2 or 3 and branch out from there. Go to recipe cards to see our top recipes.

I'm a Styling Creme devotee, but I'm not getting the same results - why?
Great question and good catch! We changed the formula last year due to environmental regulations. As a result, the way we use the product and its performance results and effects have evolved. Our stylists have been able to achieve the same level of volume (when used with a blow-dryer) and have noticed that it leaves hair softer to the touch. For stronger hold, we find that layering Thickening Spray or Styling Lotion over Styling Creme while blow-drying does the trick. For those looking for more volume and hold at the root, layer Surf Spray and Does it All over Styling Creme and to create the effect of using Styling Creme and as a hair gel, we recommend using Holding Spray or Extra Strength Holding Spray with Styling Creme, (depending on desired level of hold). We encourage you to experiment with these combinations and as always, we welcome your feedback.

Why does my Alojoba Shampoo have such low-lather?
It's designed that way. It's a myth that lather is necessary for cleansing (it's not). Because Alojoba is our most conditioning shampoo, its lather is purposefully low, so it can deliver conditioning properties and leave hair feeling soft.
