SPRING/SUMMER 2009 RUNWAY REPORT
Hairdressing at the Spring/Summer 2009 collections drew inspiration largely from nature & movement; where muses were made of butterflies, light, bicycle races, parachutes & jellyfish. Although the hairstyles were varied, there were some common themes: prim is out, modern means not-so-perfect, and creating flyaways is an art form.

Up/slightly disheveled/unpasse/modern chignon sans bun
How to:
Apply Prep + Surf Spray/blow-dry with flat brush/braid & pull back/tease with Spray de Mode/secure with pins/Sumowax at hair line

High school days/hippie dons army
Hair inspiration:
Masculine/feminine
How to:
Apply Prep/separate out small sections around the head/pull tight & braid (fishtail or not)/flyaways on purpose/wrap length of braid around and secure at base/finish with Spray de Mode

How to:
Apply Prep + Styling Balm + Surf Spray/rough blow-dry/unsleek/ pull side sections back/secure/balloon rub for added flyaways

How to:
Apply Surf Spray/no brush rough blow-dry/clean center part/scrunch in small sections for soft waves/fluff at roots for volume/curl with tongs randomly/finish with Does It All

How to:
Apply Tonic Lotion/unglossy/section from front hairline to nape/two close together ponytails at back hairline/more Tonic Lotion/twist ponytails together/braid-like & pinned up into a rectangle/secure/finish with Does it All

Hair inspiration:
Fresh from the pool/ clean/stark/‘90's
How to:
Apply Bb. Straight/blow-dry/pull taut/flat iron/pull back sections from side/secure under loose hair behind head/apply Defrizz + Holding Spray in front for wet look/hard top/soft back

Goth/post-punk/metal
How to:
Section top of hair/apply Spray de Mode + Holding Spray/let set/more Holding Spray on remaining length of hair/flat iron & leave rough/Holding Spray encore/slick back top & sides/all good in the end

Hair inspiration:
Parachute/jelly fish just touching ground
How to:
Apply Prep + Styling Creme/roots to mid-shaft/rough blow-dry/high, slightly off side loose ponytail/braid & wrap around base/secure with hair pins/apply Spray de Mode to palms/deflate/smooth over head/flyaways on purpose
