Bumble and bumble was proud to host and take part in the second Bb. & First Step Makeover Event in October, 2008. First Step is part of the Coalition for the Homeless and aims to empower homeless, formerly homeless and low-income women to become self-sufficient through job training, mentoring, internships, job placement and social service support. Women who are enrolled in First Step attend an intensive 3 - month program to learn skills needed to find employment. The First Step attendees received their Bb makeovers during the final month of their training, just as they were preparing to interview for jobs.

The Bb. Stylists gave the women great cuts, and worked with them so they could recreate the styles at home (goody bags of Bb. were included!). One First Stepper summed up her experience at the House of Bumble when she said at the end of the night, “I've never looked or felt so beautiful!”
